This website comes to you as the result of chance encounter in the Library and Archives of Canada. While looking for archival footage related to Northwestern Ontario, The Fatal Flower was re-discovered and it became apparent that the Port Arthur Amateur Cinema Society was more than just a curiosity. A Race for Ties and Dorothea Michell's Lady Lumberjack were known to people in Thunder Bay, but the real significance of these two items and the existence of much more was unknown. Ladylumberjack.ca is a website devoted to the silent films of the Port Arthur Amateur Cinema Society and the people behind them. It is intended to provide visitors with historical information, educational resources about a unique part of Canada's film history.
